Getting Started With Meditation


In this current scenario, people easily get mentally tired because of a hectic schedule, and demanding lives. Meditation is a key solution to overcome problems like anxiety, depression, anger, lack of motivation, and many more. Meditation is an approach to keep the mind calm and healthy just like we do fitness exercise to keep our body fit and healthy.  In many countries, people treat meditation as sports.

What is meditation all about 


Meditation is an ancient method to keep our minds stable, but it still practiced in many regions from all over the world to create a sense of inner harmony. Although, It is extremely difficult for a freshman to sit for hours with an empty mind like think of nothing. Meditation is less about faith and more about achieving peace, focus, and concentration. 

Types of meditation 

1. Mindfulness meditation:- Mindfulness is one of the popular meditation techniques in the Western part that originated from Buddhist.  

In this particular technique, you have to close your eyes and pay attention to your thoughts as they pass through your mind. you don't either judge them or become lost with them. You simply have to observe your thoughts and make a note of any pattern of it. People can do this meditation at any place and at any time.

You will find out it helpful to focus on an object or your breath while you observing thoughts and feelings. This technique is good for people who don't have a guide to teach them. 

2. Spiritual meditation:- This meditation is used by Eastern religions, like Hindu, Christian, and Dao.

It is similar to prayer that reflects on the silence around you and seeks a deeper connection with your god, Spiritual entity, and the universe. Some essential oils are commonly used for this meditation such as myrrh, cedar, sandalwood, sage, frankincense, and ETC.

Spiritual meditation can be practiced at place of worship, temple or home. This practice is more beneficial for those who want silence and spiritual growth in there life.

3. Focus meditation:- Focus meditation consists of any five of these sense including concentration. for example, you can focus on something internal, like your breathing. However,  you can bring up any external material for your attention like Mala beads, candle flame, and listeningong


From hearing, It looks like a simple task but for a beginner, it can be quite difficult to hold their focus at the same point for longer than a few minutes. In between meditation if your mind does wander than it's extremely important to come back to the task and refocus. 

It's ideal for those who want to more focus and a stable mind in the future.

4. Movement meditation:- Although, many people think of yoga when they hear about movement meditation. In this kind of meditation includes walking through the woods, qigong, gardening, long walk between nature and the forms of motion. 


This form of meditation is good for those people who find peace and stability in action and prefer to let their minds running.

5. Transcendental meditation:- It is a very popular and pure form of meditation around the world. This meditation is the most scientifically studied. 

In this meditation, it uses Mantra or a series of Sanskrit words to help the practitioner to gain focus with just the following breath. This meditation is slightly more organized and structured. 


It's simple, effortless and natural meditation people have to do 20 minutes twice each day while sitting comfortably with eyes are closed. 

Above all these types of meditation, people have to take breathe very slowly and deeply. In some cases, it allows you to let your mind wanderer, whereas; in other types of meditation you have to stay focus.

  4. They think napping is far better than meditation.
  5. Some people think it takes years to truly benefit from it.
  6. People think meditation makes them emotionless.
  7. The younger generation doesn't want to meditate because they think it's spiritual.
People who don't have time to join an organization or club for meditation, So simply they can meditate at home. Many people nowadays doing meditation at home regularly.
