Things You Need To Know Before Travelling To Andaman Nicobar Island

Location & Geography:

Andaman & Nicobar islands are the union territory of India. These islands consist of 572 various smalls islands and of these, 38 are inhabited by people. Port Blair is the capital city of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. These islands located in the southeast part of India. The total area covered by these islands is 8250 Km square. It is established in the year 1956. The best time to visit Andaman & Nicobar Islands is in October and May because at this time the weather is quite bright and pleasurable. However, during July and September(monsoon season) are not good.  

Culture & Economic sector :

The culture in Andaman & Nicobar islands is just like the Southern part of India. The official language of this island is Hindi but most speak-able language is Bengali because around 70% of people are living there are Bengali. Over 65% of people are Hindu and about 22% of people are Christians and others are Islam, Buddhists and many others.

Citizens of these islands survive through the tourism sectors. This sector gives employment to many people and other people depends on agriculture, forestry, and fishing. Some of the old people also do art & handicrafts work which is made from sea stones and some sea species.

Migration:

For, travel to Andaman & Nicobar islands there are 2 different platforms. First and foremost, people can move by plane via Chennai or Kolkata. Because there aren't any direct flights for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Flight directly lands on Veer Savarkar International Airport which is located in Port Blair from Chennai or Kolkata. 

Another way of migration is by cruise which also starts from Chennai, Kolkata, and Vizag, But it takes 50 to 60 hours to reach Port Blair or Havelock. Once you reach there, many taxis and auto-rickshaws are standing at that place which costs you roughly 500 Rs per 35 KM.

1. Port Blair 

Port Blair is the capital city of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It is located in the Southern part of Andaman. It is considered Museums, jail, royal beaches with many kinds of water sports and many more. It is connected all-island by ferries. It is considered a beautiful culture and heritage architecture.

2. Havelock Island

Havelock island is officially known as Swaraj Dweep. It is the most amazing place for tourism and it is located far from 70 KM North side of the capital. It is the best combination of white sandy beaches and blue water. This place is considered many water sports, resorts and dining. This place is best for couples in honeymoon place.

3. Niel Island
